How to: Install your Bold Connect

Welcome

Ok, just to be sure. You’ve already installed one or more Bold Smart Locks before installing the Bold Connect, right? Cool. Is your Bluetooth activated on your mobile device? Check. Do you have access to Wi-Fi? Awesome. Now it’s time to take it to the next level.

How to install

Step 1: Use the adapter provided to connect your Bold Connect.

Step 2: In the Bold app, you click on the plus (+) sign and follow the steps.

Step 3: Press and hold the round button to activate installation mode. Release the button when the light starts to flash red.

Step 4: Press the button on your Bold Connect and the button in the Bold App simultaneously. The Bold Connect will now be linked to your Bold account.

Step 5: Enter a name for your Bold Connect.

Step 6: Choose the right Wi-Fi network from the list to set up an internet connection for your Bold Connect.

Step 7: If you’ve successfully set up an internet connection, you will see a list of locks that are within the range of the Bold Connect. These locks can now use the extra functionality.

The installation process is now complete. Do you own several Bold Smart Locks? In that case, you can check whether each of them is within the range of the Bold Connect. If the Bold App can’t find a Bold Smart Lock, it’s probably because the signal of the Bold Connect is not received. Move your Bold Connect slightly and they’ll appear in the app.

Controller function

Nice to know: You can use your Bold Connect to open your existing wired electronic locking systems such as gates, garage doors and central doors. Also this installation is done within a few simple steps. Here you find some visuals.

Step 1: Remove and dispose of the plastic tab from the Connect by bending it outward.

Step 2: Remove the green plug from the Connect.

Step 3: Strip 5mm of the end of the wires. Loosen the small flat head screws, insert wires, fasten the small flathead screws.

Step 4: Reinsert the green plug in the housing (bear in mind: the screws are facing the front of the Bold Connect housing).

You are the Controller

You can easily manage and share access from the Bold App. Activate the Controller? Please use the push button of the Bold Connect. You can also do this in the Bold App.
